About Terri

Terri Delaney, MSW, LICSW, SEP is a trauma therapist, educator, and a life-long learner. Her passion is healing relational trauma and helping people to learn functional relationship skills. She looks at all levels of relationships, including developmental, generational, familial, and historical. In addition to her therapy practice, she teaches classes on relational skills.
Terri is trained in several different treatment methods including Self-Trust and Integrated Resilience (STAIR) Method, Internal Family Systems (IFS), Post-Induction Therapy (PIT), Somatic Experiencing (SE), Intimacy from the Inside Out (IFIO), Relational Life Therapy (RLT), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), and Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART). She also has trained and assists with Kathy Kain, and is trained in Transforming Touch with Stephen Terrell.
She is excited to share her knowledge and learning experiences with you! Terri is not currently accepting new clients in her therapy practice due to a long wait list, however, you can enroll in her online courses and workshops. If you are a SE student, you can also contact Terri for a consultation session that will count towards your SEP certification.

Services

Individual Therapy

As a clinical social worker, Terri offers individual therapy to clients at her Edina office and via telehealth. She focuses on relational issues and trauma treatment. She is also trained to treat dissociative disorders and attachment trauma, using somatic, narrative, and experiential processes.

Somatic Experiencing®

Terri is a Somatic Experiencing Practitioner® and she is Somatic Experiencing Training Assistant. This embodied method of trauma treatment focuses on nervous system regulation and healing. Terri has found that trauma lives in the body and she offers a monthly somatic skills drop-in class as well as consultation to therapists and personal sessions to SE students.

Couples Counseling

Terri is a certified Relational Life Coach, trained by Terry Real, founder of Relational Life Therapy. She coaches couples to step into relational skills and she is a certified teacher of the Essential Skills Relational Boot Camp. This weekend workshop is for individuals as well as couples.

Post Induction Therapy

Terri trained with Pia Mellody, creator of Post Induction Therapy, an effective method of healing developmental/childhood trauma. By looking at the templates we receive from our families, we can address unhealthy patterns and reclaim our power. This work can be done individually or in a group. She also offers weekend trauma intensives.

Classes and Workshops

Terri believes in lifelong education and so she offers classes to support people in leading more relational lives. These include the Grow your Wise Adult Skills class, Somatic Basic Skills, the Essential Skills Couples Bootcamp, and Adult Getting Stuff Done/ADHD Skills classes.

Intensive Weekends

In addition to therapy and classes, Terri regularly offers 3 day Reclaiming Your Power Intensive Workshops. This is a powerful way to move from your family of origin templates and behavior patterns into more functional ways of living and relating.
